Define the data link layer of OSI model?

This layer of OSI model is responsible for carrying a packet of data from one computer (or router) to the next. It is also responsible for the reliability of the physical link established at physical layer. This layer provides for the error free transfer of data from one computer another. It checks whether the data has arrived properly and safely at the destination.
