The physical layer of OSI model is the bottom most layer. This layer is related to the transmission media for data transmission. This layer controls and co-ordinates the transmission of data in the form bit stream over a physical medium such as coaxial cable, optic fiber cable etc. it also defines the rules by which the bit are passed from one node (computer) in the network the next.
